College of Engineering Pathanapuram bagged 17 student projects during 2015-2016 and 8 projects during 2014-2015 under Centre for Engineering Research and Development (CERD). Student groups from the college has submitted innovative projects having the potential to redefine the way we live our day.CERD is established by Government of Kerala to act as a platform for the faculty and students of engineering colleges in the State to pursue their interest in basic and applied research in Engineering and Technology.It is registered under Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955 as an autonomous society. The governance of the Centre is vested with the Engineering Research Council chaired by Honarable minister for Education, Government of Kerala.The Centre will be the hub centre and Satellite Centres will be established as and when necessary in engineering colleges to carry out research and development activities to make the colleges centres of excellence.  The Centre will provide centralized computational and other common research facilities, access to information sources, conduct training, seminars, symposia and lecture series in emerging areas and research initiation.
